Q: What does the website migration service involve? Will my web site be secure?
A: If your present hosting provider can no longer satisfy the necessities of your site, or when you face constant downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the client support staff to reply back to you, it may be smart to switch your hosting provider, i.e. to migrate all the files for your websites as well as your databases from your present provider to your new provider. At Website Servers, we understand that this can be difficult & time–consuming. Because of this, we will accomplish all that for you at no cost!Our practiced technical staff reps will transfer your site content from your present provider to us. Our technicians have got lots of experience with web site migration and can handle anything – from a traditional WordPress–powered weblog or Joomla™–based site, to a highly complex, custom–built application.

Q: Web site migration seems like lots of work. How long does it take?
A: While we cannot give you an exact time frame, since there are lots of variables, among them the physical size of the files and databases, the physical location of the current host’s server, the complexity of your web site and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll try our very best to migrate your website within 48 hours, and in certain cases – within 24 hours (in case the website content is not large).

Q: My privacy concerns me. What info do you require?
A: We don’t need any personal info. We’ll need, though, the login info for your old hosting account along with the name of the website that you would like to transfer.

Q: The login info for my hosting account is delicate. How can I trust you?
A: In order for us to start the transfer of your hosting account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us will require that you to share basically the same information you have provided to your current host. We also have a very rigid Privacy Policy, which describes how personal info is dealt with.

Q: Will my website be unavailable during the transfer?
A: Nah. Your website will stay visible online during the transfer. Once everything is completed on our end, we’ll inform you so that you can preview it and check for problems. If everything’s OK, all you will have to do is modify your domain name’s DNS settings.

Q: Will my old web hosting provider need to provide any information/help?
A: Nah. Apart from your login credentials for the Control Panel, we don’t need anything. We will never contact your web hosting provider. They won’t know anything about the migration either.

Q: Which hosting platforms do you support?
A: Yeah. We support all regular Linux–powered hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–powered web hosting platforms, since we don’t offer Windows hosting solutions ourselves.Additionally, we do not support proprietary site creation and administration user interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
